![]() You needed skills to fly the glider in good thermals and keep it open, as a newbie with 40 hrs I had to play catch up.fast! It was dangerous because of how it performed in the dhv test and got a 1-2 rating, But in the real world it really needed a more experienced pilot dangling beneath it to stop it relying on its certification. Next to the gliders some of you paragliding veterans have flown no doubt it was a peach, but i feel it was dangerous. It was very soft in the leading edge! Even after 2 sivs on it back to back, I still didnt trust it. It had pretty much recovered when I hit the hill. Not forgetting one special moment on the blorenge (post cp 60 hours) it front tucked, it required me to apply direct input to help peel the tips back and quicken its recovery and make it glider shaped again. I experienced a few front tucks at low altitude. Scratching on the busy south downs getting waked, was not pleasent. Going from the bollero to the sport wasnt a step up, it was a jump, yet it was sold to me as a good 1/2 and second glider. This doesnt make for an enjoyable and relaxing time. The Sport however was the type of drinking partner you had to watch continually because at the first hint of trouble, it could probably kick off! If you liken wings to drinking partners, the bollero would take you out, get you nicely P***ed up and tuck you up in bed all safe and sound at the end of the night.
